Happy New Year
Yesterday was crazy weather; tornadoes.. and I was driving around in it! Wondering what all the debris was coming across the windshield (and calling the daughter to ask what is the difference between a tornado watch and warning)! You would think after all these years in St. Louis I would have figured that out. Just very thankful that we are all safe and sound.
Wayne is out with John driving the tractor(s) and cutting wood at John's place - he's in heaven.
I am sitting home and working on some crafts (finishing binding Tori's quilt and looking at the spinning wheel and loom).
I don't plan on leaving the house until I have to go back to work on Tuesday. All the errands and shopping trips are done for the weekend and I just don't have any desire to leave (at least I say that now - we'll see how I feel after a day or 2 with my mother and husband and this attitude may change tomorrow).
Pot of vegetable beef soup in crockpot and some bowtie pasta with bacon/mushrooms and leeks in the fridge. Also have the honey baked ham (why do you think I was out driving in tornadoes yesterday!) and fixin's for the sides ready in case the kids decide to come out - and even if they don't come today I can still do the ham and dinner tomorrow.
Cold today and wet and muddy so no riding (again) for awhile. I am looking at the weather and hoping that maybe by late next week or weekend it will dry enough and warm up a smidge so that Elise can come out and work with Joey Genius Boots. We get to start riding him late Spring/early Summer.
Thinking about work and just how crazy it will be in 2011. So much on the plate and so many new areas that I have to figure out. Hope I win the lottery and /or figure out how to do the patent thing that Mary and I are talking about (shhhh) ;)
This year we will also have a trip to New Orleans for Chris and Annie's wedding (yeah). Not sure when Jennifer and Eric are getting married as they haven't set a date but maybe a trip to Vegas will be happening (if that plan still holds).
I am sure we'll also be down to see the G-Baby Abi and Richard Lee (my baby) and Casie along with the rest of the "clan". This past Christmas Eve we did lose Grammy Tate at 100. Now they are all gone; Grammy, Papa, Grammy Tate - so we are now the next generation and that feels so weird.
ADD kicking in - just saw the Camelot horses just now on the TV for Rose Parade.. how pretty..
Well, back to binding the quilt for Tori (late Christmas/Birthday). We'll see what happens with 2011 so take care.
